SUNDAY BRUNCH AT DOLLFACE

Yesterday I went to a brunch hosted by Dollface Studio. Darah and Siobhan did a great job planning this little soiree for their clients and I was glad to be a part of it. They created this fabulous tropical garden of edible goodies themselves- great idea! The wedding cake is from Brown Betty in Northern Liberties- so delicious!!! And the centerpiece came from Beautiful Blooms in Philadelphia. Thanks to Donna at Beautiful Blooms and Norrinda at Brown Betty for creating and giving us these lovely additions to a great party! Note that one of Siobhan's photos is blown up in the background and is just a sample of their wonderful photography! Great job girls and thanks for including me!

TAG- I'M IT!

Ms Polka Dot has tagged me- so here goes! These are the rules:

1. Link to person who tagged you and post the rules

2. Share 5 songs that you are embarrassed to share with others that you like and tell why

3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blog

4. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

Now for the fun part- MY FAVORITE SILLY SONGS!

1. I'm a Barbie Girl- Aqua: Why, because I had a good friend who used to sing this song in the car when we were out being crazy.

2. Macarena- Los Del Rio: Again, goes back to my crazy days ( in my 40-'s!), living in the city and acting crazy for the first time in my life.

3. Mambo Number 5- Lou Bega: Not really a good reason, just liked the beat and love to dance to it.

4. A Tisket A Tasket- Ella Fitzgerald: My daughter used to do a dance routine to this song.

5. At Last- Etta James: Not so embarrassing, but a song close to my heart.

So now...

Tag- You're it! Vane at Brooklyn Bride, Anne at Perfectbound, Claudia at The Paris Apartment, Kevin at Kevin McPherson Group, Joy at Oh Joy, Elizabeth and Rebekah at Elizabeth Anne Designs and Didi at Little Winter Bride.

ENJOY EVERYONE!! And, thanks to Ms Polka Dot for including me!!!

MARRIED AWAY... ANOTHER DESTINATION

Yet another beautiful spot- a little closer to home! Long Beach Island, New Jersey and the Stateroom can make a fairytale wedding in the sand for you! Or, Sea Bright, New Jersey and the Windows on the Water... a place worthy of the most elegant of beach-going brides!! With summer almost here and the beach on everyone's mind, this idea makes my top list of wedding sites!! Yours? The gown is a Claire Pettibone- can't you just see it blowing in the sea breeze? And, the flowers and the cake, none other than Martha Stewart!

A GRECIAN FANTASY

How romantic a place is Greece for this wedding? Poros Beach at sunset and this Grecian inspired gown make for the beginnings of a fabulous destination wedding! Thanks Martha Stewart Weddings for to the cake and the flowers!

PHI AND NHI: ONE COUNTRY, TWO WORLDS

I have a wonderful new bride that I must tell you
about! The minute I heard her voice on the phone, I liked her. When I met her a few days later... I was hooked!! Phi and Nhi are Vietnamese- Phi from the South and Nhi from the North. Their story is as interesting as their wedding and I am so excited to be a part of it. Their families are steeped in their culture and the couple wants to blend an American wedding with their Vietnamese backgrounds- without hurting anyone's feelings. After Phi told me about her day and all the obstacles, twists and turns, she was convinced I wouldn't want the job- BOY! Was she wrong. The traditions and ceremonies of the Asian culture are very poignant and SO intricate. From the decor to the food to the ceremony itself, there is meaning to it all. We start the day with an intimate Buddhist ceremony for a small group at Phi's parents. Then on to the Catholic ceremony in Nhi's parish church. Finally, to an Asian restaurant for a wedding banquet- all 12 courses and 500 people. Stay tuned this fall for more about this lovely couple and photos of the wedding in October! I AM SO EXCITED!! LOVE YOU ALREADY, PHI!
