SOMETHING BLUE- OH, NEW!

Rock Paper Scissors is full of new things! Summer brides will be so excited to get their something blue as a bonus with these crisp and lovely invitations. Whether your wedding is an elegant evening dinner in a ballroom or a more casual beach wedding, there is something for any bride with a blue color palette.

The idea of an invitation in a box is so elegant to me. And, Rachel is the master of boxed invitations. Imagine your guests opening this beautiful package and knowing that they cankeep the box as a memory of your special day. Genius!

This invitation is very simple, yet makes a statement. the dark box- a little mystery for the event, a pale blue ribbon- the sweetness of the moments to come and the white gardenia- a symbol of the vision of white ( or ivory) as the bride comes into the room.
For you more flowery brides with an outdoor garden wedding, how about these naturally beautiful floral invitations? No matter the garden variety, there is something for the rose lovers and the more traditional. I love the floral brooch on the pink and gold invitation.

This idea for a beach- themed wedding is just perfect! From the little "beach bags" on the chairs to the escort cards in sand and the shells on the table numbers- need I say more?
T
his is another idea that is pure perfection! The colors remind me of the warm sand and the cool breeze of the beach. The soft pinks and deep browns are so luscious!

Now for the best news! For brides on a budget, you don't have to give up these
great ideas at all! Rachel and Rock Paper have designed a whole new site called Rock Paper Scissors Al a Carte! This way, you can
have the same brilliant ideas and not break the bank! So, look for this new line coming soon. And, start dreaming of your fantasy invitation! In the meantime, happy planning!

HIDDEN TREASURE

Recently, I went to a little bridal event in a lovely little shopping village out in Wayne, Pa. So many beautiful things tucked away right on Lancaster Avenue- and no one knows they are there- except the locals, of course! Well, I decided to shout out for Spread Eagle Village and all of the fine and beautiful things you can still find.

This adorable bridesmaid dress, by Dessy, is also perfect for rehearsal dinner or any party! The bridal gown, in it's perfectly elegant simplicity is one of Monique Lhullier's amazing creations. All of the flowers are from Valley Forge Flowers and this bouquet was my favorite! Perfect ivory roses nestled in 4 luscious orchids and tied with pale green satin ribbon- it was a wow! Below are a few more of the beautiful gowns available from my good friend Patti at The Wedding Shoppe. Her shop is full of the best selection of upscale gowns and plenty of bling! Her veil selection is beyond any I have seen in other stores. And she has the BEST seamstresses anywhere!

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR

My friends at Brickfish have gotten together with Amsale for a fabulous and fun contest! What a way to trash that ugly bridesmaid dress you had to wear or tell the story of a disaster of your own! I think this is such a great idea and the prizes are amazing! So, check out the "girl scout cookie" disaster dress and then get busy telling your own story! Maybe the winner will show up here as a new post. Can't wait to read all of your entries. But, don't delay- you only have until April 13!!
The “Do Your Friends a Favor” campaign asks women to share their dress disaster stories; whether it was a horrible bridesmaid's dress or just a major fashion faux pas, Amsale wants to know all about it! It’s easy to enter.
Here are some of the details:

Entrants upload photos of their dress disasters. Entrants then select an Amsale dress they would’ve rather worn. Entrants can even use the "Anonymator" tool to make their worst dress moments anonymous. Entrants then share their entries with each other via social media to get votes and reviews. Entrants can also make their entries go viral by sharing across the Internet with friends and peers via their social networks.

Rewards:

Grand Prize: One winner, selected by Amsale from the top 250 highest scoring entries, will win a trip for 2 to New York City for two nights including roundtrip airfare and hotel. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to meet with Amsale and enjoy a $2,500 shopping spree at the Amsale Flagship Salon.

Runner-Up: One winner, selected by Amsale from the top 250 highest scoring entries, will receive a $1,500 shopping spree to the Amsale Flagship Salon in NYC.

PHOTO OPS

What a fabulous find! Here is a way for you to find an award winning photographer, with a sample of their work all in one place! The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers is a wonderful resource to find a reputable photographer, look at their work and read reviews from clients and other photographers. This is just a small glimpse of some of the winter 2008 winners of the photography contest. Now, these are not the only great photographers out there! But, for those of you having trouble finding the right fit, this is a wonderful place to go. It's fun just to look at all of these amazing images too! Thanks to Joe Milton for turning me on tho this great resource! And, congratulations to the winners- I wish I could show all of you here.

PINK TEA FOR THE CURE

Miss Jane is a dynamo and an amazing human being! Last weekend she had her second annual Pink Tea for the Susan G Koman Foundation for breast cancer. All of the little lovelies she teaches ballet and tap to took a break from practising for the recital and came dressed in their finest. We shared tea and treats. Both studios were decorated and there was a wonderful raffle with great donations from local business. There was even a fashion show for all the little girls. Here are some photos- and, yes, that is Miss Jane in the pretty pink hat. Of course, my little lovely was there with her Nanny.
